Indoor Equipment

 

To prevent fire, electrical shock or equipment failure:

  • Do not expose apparatus to rain or moisture.
  • Avoid spilling liquid o­n or near the apparatus.
  • Do not disconnect power plug or IF cables or external power supply connection.
  • Do not push objects through the openings in the apparatus.
  • Refer all servicing including relocating and installation alterations to the VSTAR call Centre o­n 08600 VSTAR or 08600 87827.

 

  • Do not disconnect the power cable from the terminal. In extreme circumstances, first turn off the power o­n the unit before disconnecting the power plug.
  • Do not disconnect the IF (co-axial cable) or external power supply from the terminal. Incorrect disconnect procedures may result in electrical damage and/or personal injury.
  • The front rear and sides of the apparatus may have holes for ventilation to protect the apparatus from overheating. To ensure reliable operation, do not block or close these openings in any manner.
  • Never place this apparatus near or over a heater or a heat-generating item or in a closed built in installation such as a bookcase or rack, unless the installation provides proper ventilation that meets specifications.
  • For ventilation, a 13.5cm area must be left open above the apparatus.
  • The apparatus must be located o­n a stable vibration free surface.
  • The apparatus must not be exposed to undue amounts of dust and dirt.
  • No attempt must be made to alter any apparatus settings via the network connection

Cabling System

 

  • Refer all servicing of cables and routes to the VSAT Call Centre o­n 08600 VSTAR or 08600 87827
  • Cables must not be subjected to:
  • Tight bends of less than 10cm bending radius.
  • Squashing, being trod o­n or driven o­n
  • Stretching
  • Cable connections must not be subjected to frequent movement or continuous vibration.

 

Antenna System

 

  • Never place objects or parts of a person between the feedhorn system and the antenna surface. This can lead to service interruption and personal injury.
  • The area in the line of sight of the antenna must be kept free from obstructions (e.g. trees, buildings, and vehicles). Obstructions will cause degradation or loss of service.
  • The antenna mount must not be used for any other purpose other than the mounting of the antenna.
  • Refer all servicing of the antenna, antenna mount system and antenna components to the VSAT Call Centre o­n 08600 VSTAR or 08600 87827.
  • Never move or rotate the antenna or parts of the antenna.
  • Never disconnect cables leading to or from the antenna. Disconnecting or tampering with cables can result in electrical damage or personal injury.
