Sentech Limited, South Africa's leading signal distributor is committed to the advancement of expertise in information communication and technology in South Africa.

To demonstrate and give effect to this commitment the SENTECH EDUCATIONAL FUND has been established. The Fund has been registered with the Master of the High Court Pretoria, (Ref No IT 6078/02), and registered as a non-profit organisation (Registration no 024-570-NPO) with the Department of Social Development.

The fund has also been recognised as a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO No 18/11/13/3095) by the Tax Exemption Unit of the South African Revenue Services, and in terms thereof amongst others:

  • The fund is exempt from income tax in terms of Section 10 (1)(cN) of the Income Tax Act.
  • Donations made to the fund are tax deductible in the hands of the donors in terms of and subject to the limitations prescribed in Section 18A of the Act.
  • The effect of this is that donors to the fund would be entitled to deduct from their taxable income the sum of any donations that do not exceed the greater of
    • 5 % of the taxable income of the tax payer as calculated before allowing any deductions under Sections 18 or 18A or
    • R1 000.00.
    • To further demonstrate its commitment to the fund, Sentech Limited has budgeted for and committed itself to donating R1 million to the fund during the 2004 calendar year. 



     

Besides this commitment Sentech Limited and the Trustees are committed to the soliciting of support for the trust from other sources including suppliers and others, who have a relationship with Sentech Limited.
